About founder

A classical pianist and music educator, Zuzana Lenartova (MMus.DipEd.) trained at the Conservatorium of Music in Kosice, Slovakia, obtaining Piano Performance and teaching degrees before completing a Masters Degree in Musicology and Pedagogy at University Comenius in Bratislava.

Zuzana gave her first piano lesson when she was 18 and later worked as a piano teacher at the Kosice Conservatorium High School. She was involved with concert programming with the State Philharmonic Orchestra in Kosice, and has written performance reviews for various publications.

Zuzana moved to Sydney from Slovakia in 2000, establishing Eastern Suburbs Piano Tuition (ESPT), soon after. With her passion for music performance and education, ESPT grew to be the largest piano teaching organization in Sydney. Under her management ESPT provided lessons to a several hundred students and involved more than 30 professional teachers.

Zuzana sold ESPT in 2013 to pursue her new goals, and last year established Piano Promise in response to the need for professional and friendly advice.

“People have difficulty finding a good and, more importantly, a suitable teacher; one-to one lessons are about a right match in order to achieve enjoyable and effective learning. In many cases parents are relying on their own judgement, or that of the first music studio they Google.” ~ Zuzana
